Jusco Dinner With The Parents, Siblings and The Nieces + Nephew

Our ruse to get Dad to LOVE Bukit Indah and perhaps have more overseas trips to Johore since he wasn’t a fan of Johor Bahru. Bukit Indah is vastly different and Dad gave positive vibes which means looking at showrooms here was not a premature planning after all. Dinner was at Jusco foodcourt, I had the black pepper chicken rice claypot which cost me only RM6.50.

This was an impromptu dinner outing since Dad had to clear his leave and so we ventured up north for some family time, bringing the kids with us this time around. I’m going to Ikea soon with Fieda for our new furniture and fittings, house in Bukit Indah underway? I’ll tell you more soon.

Dinner @ Bukit Indah

We Nando-ed at Bukit Indah

It was a beautiful saturday morning although there were no birds chirping at my window sill. It was the “break time” between birthdays of Mummy’s (12th) and Akak’s (14th) so me and Noi had a breather. BTW, happy birthday Yan (13th), surely you had a blast celebrating with your loved ones.

December has always been a bitter-sweet month for me every year, I’m not sure if I should love and embrace it or just loathe it. It’s a reminder me that soon I’ll be another year older and supposedly wiser; this year marks the end of the twenties. I’ll be 30 in 2010. Can you believe it, I’m going to be 30. Oh where has my youth gone to, 18 seems like a distant memory now. Spoken in true denial, age is just a number, you are as young as you feel like. Well said. Let’s save the heartfelt emotional turmoil entry to a later date and focus on recent happy event.

I told Abg Han about my recent trip with the peeps to Bukit Indah and proudly proclaim “Aminah lives there, you know and the houses are so BIG and LAVISH,” as if I had a share in the property. You know, how “orang melayu” is always associated with being envious or dengki with others’ success especially within the same community, I shall prove the stereotype wrong by being supportive always. Alhamdulilah if someone I know is successful or “senang”, everyone loves a happy ending. You know what the experts say about being stressful, angry and spiteful, it makes you fat. yes, I just read about that in Manja, Sarimah Ibrahim would know better. Get it now, Taufik Batisah is on the cover. He’s aping Hady’s hairstyle..wahahaha..digress too much already..

Abg Han and Akak picked us up at 10am and dropped off Mummy at the market before we made our way to Johore via 2ndLink. We didn’t actually knew the way but I told Abg Han it’s along the way from 2ndLink to Johor Bahru and true enough it’s just after Nusajaya. Bukit Indah is a new residential and commercial development, west of Johor Bahru catering to the needs of perhaps Singaporeans that ply through the 2ndLink. My guess. If you think Angsana and Perling Mall is near, this is even nearer and so I proclaim this area as my new Johor hangout. Selamat Jalan Jusco Tebrau! wahaha..

Noi wanted to eat so badly at Nandos because according to her it was BOOMZ. No Noi, Nandos shingz. Save for the server being so polite hence I shall resort to blame my less than perfect dining experience to the management. For a restaurant during lunch hour, even though it was a Saturday, you can’t expect to have only 2 servers around and how they elusively did not catch my frantic waves for attention. What’s the point of having free flow when there is no drink station around and your servers are always busy with other customers. Yes, you the lady with the baby. If you have too many requests, just go to the kitchen and prepare your own meals. You’re hogging the limelight and it’s such a lame cry of desperation. What do I have to do to get some service around here? Show some flesh?? Hmm Nur, next time I must bring you along ah, like that. wahahah.

Salt must be cheap in Malaysia because all the sauces are SALTY and it was pre-prepared and shipped out to all branches, not home-made so there was nothing the branches could do. You sure? Somehow, it’s quite hard for me to digest that fact but I gave Nandos the benefit of the doubt. Nandos is from Africa and all this while I thought Nandos was Mexican. Yes, Akak and Noi, it’s from South Africa and not Ghana, Sudan or Malawi..wahaha..now we know and thanks to google. Noi still claimed that Nandos in KL tastes better and different, no worries I’m not going to boycott Nandos but if we ever decides to dine there again, please enroute to KFC first. I need to “tapao” some packets of chilli sauces…wahahaha

Nandos..a tad too salty for me…
